Linda McCarthy died at 11:00 PM, Wednesday, March 10, 2010.  Her long battle over.

The passing of Linda McCarthy marks a unique moment in the world of business.  As a networker, Linda and her man Mike, who survives her, were renowned for their generosity.  Their popular website, McCarthy Central, drew views far and wide from around the world.  It was an attraction because it gave information and priceless technique and did so freely.  The information was far more valuable than the tricks and gimmicks others sold at a premium.

Mike and Linda were always straight shooters.  If others pushed the envelope with “gray” programs that found temporary success, Mike and Linda always did it the right way.  And it paid.  They were examples of building a network marketing business to the top, without compromising principle or cheating trusting prospects who would have followed them anywhere.

In many respects, the integrity and commitment to people of the McCarthy’s transcended the corporation with which they were working.  Networking companies are notorious for winking at “gray” policies that make them money.  And when finally forced back, will return to the honest, steady work of distributors who follow the rules and provide the dependable bulwark of income.  The result?  The “good guys” often work harder for less.  But the McCarthy’s proved that being good pays money.  They were not only generous and refused to cut the corners or defraud their own prospects, or raid people who weren’t their own, they made money, as much as any of their more flamboyant colleagues.

One more thing.  While offering their wisdom to the world.  The McCarthy’s loved their own lines of sponsorship and promoted them freely.  Their website is more about their people than it is about themselves.

It was a high wire act.  On the one hand they maintained the best of reputations with the company, their downline, their colleagues and on the other they made money.

It is hard to believe that Linda is gone.  But her reputation will live on.  Popular author, Zig Ziglar, who is failing in health, recently told a friend of mine.  When you die, all you really leave behind is your name.  Linda McCarthy leaves us a treasure.  We will feel her with us as we carry on.  And more than once we will ask ourselves, “What would Linda do?”

Linda was a friend, a good friend. She was a mentor to me and many others. She shared her wisdom, her kindness, her goodness. She was a teacher that called it as it was, even if you didn’t like how it was. She would hold your hand just long enough for you to relax so you would be open enough to hear her hard earned wisdom. She loved her husband, her children, her grands, her friends, her downline, her crossline. She loved her Lord. She knew well before the rest of us what was ahead for her and yet she smiled through it all and encouraged us to pursue all life had to offer. She will be missed by many and those memories she leaves us will be cherished. Good bye, my friend. I look forward to hearing your voice and seeing your smiling face as you continue to send me advice as you have so many times before. The thoughts and prayers of Joe and I are with Mike and the rest of her family and friends as we grieve her passing while knowing she is finally pain free and at peace in the arms of our Lord.

Linda was a beautiful women both inside and out. She always seemed to have a smile and a kind word. I only knew her from a distance. She was in the “people business” and it showed. Leaving people better than she found them. Playing and living by the Golden rule. I sat in one of their classes at Convention in October as I observed her wonderful skills in action. What a lady! It was fun to watch her keep Mike focused.. It makes me smile even today. Now she will be managing Mike from heaven. Now she had Gods help.
She will be greatly missed. I wish I could have known her better. For those that did you can always cherish the happy times and knowing you can meet with her again in heaven.

I joined XanGo 5 years ago and when I signed up my first distributor, Linda, one of the top people in XanGo, called me to congratulate me on that accomplishment. I was astounded and I will never forget her sincerity and genuine happiness for me which she mirrored to all around her. She will be greatly missed. My love to Mike and their family.

  11. Linda McCarthy. Friend, sponsor, mentor. What a great gal. Linda befriended so many, and once you knew her, you were her friend. I have known Linda (and Mike) for some 15 years, and have loved them since day one. Linda will be missed, but will still be here in our hearts, and minds. None of us will be quite the same without her, but are far better people having known her.Thank you Linda for all you were. The suffering is over, may your everlasting life be glorious! We will see you one day again…Blessings to Mike and their sons.

  12. Janice Stieglitz says:

Linda and Mike were both always above the fray, offering encouragement to all, whether in their line of Distributorship or not. For that I was always impressed. I knew them both from afar, and therefore never knew of Linda’s
    illness,another sign of her greatness.

But being with her and Mike at top Distributor events she always had a
soft smile, a gentle heart, and gentle words of encouragement. We shared many
    memorable moments.

She will be missed by many. God bless her,and prayers and deepest condolences
    to Mike and their family.

Doug, thank you for sharing this information. Mike and certainly, Linda have been in my prayers. Although I didn’t know Linda personally,I appreciated her unselfish willingness to help so many. To God be the Glory as one of His children has gone home to be with Him, but we, in the extended family of XanGo, will miss Linda and find solace in her wonderful legacy. My prayers go up for Mike and the family.

  14. Norma Rose Eckblad says:

I had the unique opportunity to know Linda through the eyes of her son. We sat together on a plane trip that had a stop over in Denver. The way he spoke about his parents ethics and love for their team has warmed my heart today as I write this. That plane trip was over 4 years ago and it has still has had an impact on me today.

Mike, the way you loved Linda was a blessing for all to witness. May you feel held by God’s arms of love and the love of all those around you offering comfort.

    We will all miss Linda.

We only in the past few months had learned of Linda’s illness. She has remained in our hearts and prayers and we were hoping things would turn.
